GSBS Medical Trust organised the fourth Cancer detection Camp for Ladies on the 14th of September. Trustees were delighted to see that there is much awareness among ladies on this subject. The registration for this camp was also completed well in advance, so there is Fresh preparation needed for the nextcamp. As this is a time consuming exercise , not more than 30 patients can be enrolled per camp.
It was so much of a satisfaction to complete the camp successfully. As this is a time consuming exercise , not more than 30 patients can be enrolled per camp.
It was so much of a satisfaction to complete the camp successfully. Photos of Diabetes+ Clinic Inauguration
Yet another unique, but first of its kind, clinic was opened at GSBS Medical Trust’s Mahim Centre which is suitably called as “Diabetes+” clinic.On World Diabetes Day, 14th November an appropriate day, the MOU for thisprogram was signed by Dr. Suhas Prabhu, the President of GSBS Medical Trust and Mr. Varun Deshpande, the Chairman of Hopscotch Health Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Prabhu said that one in every five person is having diabetes in India. It is a lifelong disease. A patient has to live with it. But if proper care is taken, the patient can lead a normal life.
The eyes, heart and kidneys are first attacked by the diabetic illness if timely care is not taken by the patient. Reversing the affected part becomes very difficult. Mr.Varun Deshpande said that his full support for the program should lead the program to bigger success.
To treat such patients, GSBS Trust has the medical solution and Hopscotch Health has the technical expertise. So this MOU between GSBS Medical Trust and Hopscotch Health Pvt. Ltd. is an ideally suited combination and the Clinic is started to give full service to Diabetic Patients.

It was Medical Trust’s good fortune that the Donors, IDBI Federal Insurance CEO Mr. Vignesh Shahane and the Company Secretary, Mr. Rajesh Ajgaonkar could spare some time and be present for the occasion.
Trusts’s President, Dr.Suhas Prabhu, welcomed the guests and briefed them about the working of the Trust. What the Trust is doing for the General Public for the past 46 years, ever since its inception in 1973. Mr. Shahane expressed hispleasure that their donation has gone to the right cause and they also want to extend their association with this non-profit charitable organization.
After inaugurating the OPG machine, the guests were taken around to have a look of the centre,Specially to the dental department.
Why is OPG needed to a Dentist?
OPG is a short form for ORTHOPANTOMOGRAM,, for a lay person it is a special X Ray, but for doctors, it is a panoramic view of the Upper and Lower Jaws. It helps in the correction of dislocated and fractured jaws. it is also used in surgical planning jaws.

Being Global Hand-washing Day, a training session was arranged at Health Rakshak Center on Tuesday 15th October 2019.
Ms.Rita D’souza and Ms.Susmita Tawde from Lilavati Hospital & Research Center gave a demonstration to our staff members.In all, our 23 Staff members participated.
“GET-TOGETHER” OF DOCTORS FROM HEALTH RAKSHAK
A “Get-Together” of Specialists, Consulting Doctors attached to Health Rakshak was organized on 11th of August 2019. It was also to exchange views on many matters pertaining to Health Rakshak and how to improve its functioning. Thediscussion was an eye opener to all present at the gathering. Many more efficient services to the patients was suggested.
Dr.Sandhya A. Kamath welcomed the gathering of doctors and explained the purpose of this meet as doctors otherwise do not have time to meet other doctors coming for consultation to the same centre. Dr.Suhas Prabhu, President of the GSBS Medical Trust beautifully gave a power point presentation on all services available at the centre and the floor was open for discussion. Many doctors participated in the Healthy discussion and many points were noted for future in depth discussion. Dr.Rajeev Redkar moderated this program.
An interesting talk was given by Dr.Sachin Chogle, Occupational Therapist andRehabilitation specialist. He explained how important rehabilitation of a patient coming back to his normal routine after surgery, accident etc.
Smt.Gita R.Pai, proposed a vote of thanks. Program concluded with a dinner for all.
Cancer Screening Camp for Women organized by GSBS Medical Trust
One of the unique programs organized by GSBS Medical Trust was A Cancer Detection Camp held on the 4th of Novembeer, 2019. It was well organized by creating four different stations , so that no time was wasted in waiting. Registering the patient’s details, Dental Check up, Papsmear and mammography . Under the good care doctors and trained technicians, entirething was done within 3 hours. All the patients and their accompanying family members and friends were given a tour of the centre and the patients were
surprised and happy to know that various diagnosis including hi level ones , could be done at one Unit. This expensive camp could be held only because of the sponsorship by GOA HINDU ASSOCIATION, who not only supported this financially, but one of their representatives Shri Shashikant Kochikar, Managing Committee Member was present at the centre and going through all details of the services given by GSBS Medical Trust. He was happy with the entire proceedings.
